HAVE YOU SEEN ENOUGH? (PART II)

To really understand age at a deeper level, could it be that what we are to do is not limited by a number but a certain experience. The elephant in the room comes to bear when seeing giants including the recent death of Mr. Kobe Bryant, forty one (41), pass away tragically in a helicopter crash. As shown by so many who were driven to tears, heartbreak, pain, and solitude, it was a reminder that no one ever knows the day, time, or moment when we are scheduled to depart this dimension in order to go into the next. We can go much deeper into the list of others who with their gifts, talents, abilities, were inspired at their young age to make an impact wherever they found themselves. Some other recognizable names include Joan of Arc, a heroine of France for her role during the Lancaster phase of the Hundred Years’ War, and was canonized as a Roman Catholic saint, was killed at the young age of nineteen (19). Otis Redding, a legendary singer, songwriter, record producer, arranger, and soul music icon passed away at twenty six (26). Jimmy Hendrix, American rock guitarist, singer, whose fame accredited him as one of the most influential musicians in the 20th century passed away at twenty seven (27).
The heartbreak of not only thinking what else could they have done if the shot clock of life was a couple of years delayed. It is amazing to ponder how they were able to find their calling and use of gifts so quickly to effect so many. It makes me question how some can live their entire life not knowing what their passion and gifts are, when these examples used them even in their adolescence to help others. What are we to believe when the “grim reaper” reaches out its hand when most believe they are just getting started? What happens when the light of someone so bright must be shine in another way, everlasting life?
